Japan 1902, Official UPU Jubilee Commemorative Picture Postcard — Registered Usage from Tientsin to Germany
Official pictorial postcard issued by the Japanese Ministry of Communications to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Japan’s Admission to the Universal Postal Union (UPU), known as the "Jubilee of Entering the UPU, Tokyo" card. Sold at post offices in limited quantities.
This example is used, franked with 4 sen and 10 sen adhesives, both cancelled by the special commemorative postmark, and sent by scarce registered mail from Tientsin (Japanese Post Office in China) to Germany.

Japan — Folded lettercard PC6, used from Shizuoka, dated 15.8.9, to Tokyo, arriving 15.8.11. A late usage of this folded type. At lower right, a hakoda (letter agency) mark reads “Niniuku” of Shizuoka–Niniukuchō.

Destination: Germany; Yokohama transit and arrival ‘Sanct Magnus’ reverse.
Franked with Chrysanthemum definitive stamps: 8 sen (Scott 103), 20 sen (Scott 113), 25 sen (Scott 114), and 35 sen (Scott 116); JSCA correlates with the Kiku series.
A scarce registered usage bearing a high‑value adhesive combination—purpose‑applied to meet the exact German rate of the era. Superb visual appeal, clear postmarks, and exceptional postal history interest. Comparable items have realised €700–1,200 in specialist auctions.

Mint block of four, Michel 271A, corresponding to Scott 266, Yvert 294, and Stanley Gibbons 259. Catalog value approx. €200. Condition: Unused (UNG), Very Fine (VF). A desirable and well-preserved multiple from pre-war Japan.

Japan 1916, Prince Heir Apparent 10 sen — Scott 154, Michel 129 / MiNr 129. Deep blue, mint never hinged (MNH), extremely fine centering, vivid fresh color, and full original gum. Issued to commemorate the elevation of Crown Prince Hirohito on 3 November 1916, in a limited printing of only 86,000, most have since been used. Exceptionally rare, thus in MNH. Scott Catalog lists unused at $825, with recent auction realizations under $850 for top condition. A premier item for specialist collectors of Japanese imperial commemoratives

Unused, Very Fine, with fresh color and clean perforations, centered well. Issued to commemorate the Silver Wedding anniversary of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shōken. Perf 11½, a scarcer perforation variety noted in JSCA but unpriced.

Registered cover dispatched from Latvia, dated 28.4.44, franked on reverse with a mixed franking of Russian and Latvian issues.
Backstamped R-Tel-Aviv 1 JUL 44 and bearing a "Opened by Censor" sealing tape.
A scarce wartime postal item reflecting dual postal authorities and censorship en route to Mandatory Palestine.
Netherlands 1913 Centenary of Independence, complete set of 12 stamps (Unificato MiNr 81–92), all hinged. SG 109–120. Catalog value €1,500.
