France 1849 Cérès 20c black on yellow (Yv. 3, SG 3, Michel 3) on cover, cancelled by clean “belle grille” and Ribécourt Type 14 postmark (4 June 1850). Certified genuine by Swiss Association of Philatelic Experts (SBPV/ASEP), Excellent condition. Similar covers have realized around CHF 600 in recent Corinphila auctions.

Horizontal tête‑bêche pair (case 131), cancelled small‑numeral lozenge. Faultless appearance, choice colour and ample margins. Full photo certificate (No. 18359) issued by Jean‑François Brun & Benoît Chandanson (AIEP, Paris, 4 June 2025), confirming authenticity.
Condition: Superb used tête‑bêche, exceptionally fresh and visually striking for this issue.

France – 1870 Ballon Monté Cover “Le Ferdinand Flocon” – Siege of Paris
Ballon Monté folded letter, flown aboard the manned balloon “Le Ferdinand Flocon”, dispatched during the Siege of Paris, amid the Franco-Prussian War. Franked with 20 centimes blue Napoléon Lauré (Yvert 29), tied by the “étoile 86” (star 86) numeral lozenge cancel. Neatly struck black circular datestamp “PARIS LE TEMPS / 3 NOV. 70” at lower left — the marking of the Paris post office located near the offices of the Le Temps newspaper on Rue des Italiens, 9th arrondissement.
Addressed to Machecoul (Loire-Inférieure) with arrival CDS on reverse dated 5 NOV 1870 — confirming rapid balloon delivery. Carried on the “Le Ferdinand Flocon”, one of the earliest official postal balloon flights, which departed Paris on 4 November 1870, landing near Nantes.
Condition: Fine to Very Fine; horizontal file fold well clear of franking and markings. No certificate, but postal and typological characteristics fully consistent with authenticated examples of this balloon flight.

FRANCE – 1870 (17 Nov.) PAR BALLON MONTÉ – “Le Général Ulrich” night flight to Niort
Folded letter franked with 1870 20c Cérès, tied by Paris Rue Taitbout postmark dated 17 November 1870, addressed to Mlle Elisabeth de Polignac, Château de St Germain via Niort.
Carried by ballon monté “Le Général Ulrich”, which departed 18 November 1870 as the first night flight from Paris. The balloon landed at Luzarches in occupied territory; mail and passengers were safely recovered and forwarded. A fine and scarce example of early siege airmail to southwestern France.

France, 1894 (23 May), Registered Postal Stationery Card. 5c postal stationery card commemorating Jeanne d’Arc and the “Délivrance d’Orléans, 8 Mai 1429”, uprated with 5c green and two 15c blue adhesives to pay the 35c registration fee, tied by circular datestamps of Rouen (23.5.94), addressed to Reims with registration handstamp and additional transit markings. A fine and scarce commemorative usage.

Highlights include Airmail series and the 1929 Exhibition issue, together with further sets and singles such as Yvert nos. 199, 213–214, 226–228, 232–234, 239, 244–246, 252–254, 261, 264–266, 287–289, 291, 305–311, 321, 327, etc. Generally fine to very fine, a sound foundation lot for the collector. Yvert catalogue value approx. €4,000.
