China 1921 cover - front only - sent Registered from Shanghai to Basle, Switzerland, franked by the 3 1920 issued stamps with famine relief overprints (including a pair of each of the 3), the stamps being cancelled by 2.3.1921 postmarks. The total franking of the cover is 26c + 8c for the famine relief fund

Agriculture.
On 1.12.1920, to raise funds for the relief of the famine-stricken people, the China Postal Authorities authorized the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (Peking) to make overprint surcharges on 3 stamps of the 1st Peking Print Junk series. These stamps were sold to the public at the surcharged value (actual franking value for postage) plus a surtax of one cent that was appropriated to the Famine Relief Fund. The overprint reads: "Received in addition to a relief contribution of one cent".
