Petah Tikva colony -1910 - local stamp – RARE.
Petah Tikva was one of the first new colonies in Israel during the Ottoman period. There was a daily postal connection with the Austrian post in Jaffa, and in 1910, the Austrian post in Israel allowed the colony to send letters using the local stamps.

Great Britain, 1 September 1936 airmail cover to Tel Aviv, Palestine, franked with ½d green (SG 457) and 2½d blue (SG 460) King Edward VIII definitives, both used on their First Day of Issue. Tied by Shropshire circular date stamps, 9.30 AM / 1 SP 1936, and sent via airmail with blue “BY AIR MAIL / PAR AVION” label. Addressed to Mr. T. Wilson, Post Office Staff, Tel Aviv, Palestine. Clean and attractive commercial cover, early use of Edward VIII stamps.
