In 1999, the Bank of Israel put into circulation 20, 50, 100, and 200 new Sheqel banknotes, the second series with new designs. The personalities were the same as those on the banknotes of the first series, but the designs were produced vertically, and the portraits were formed from the initials of the names of the personalities in the folder. There is a sheet of three uncut, uncirculated banknotes with consecutive low serial numbers. SN # 000003162.

As part of the New Shekel series, two series were issued in colored cardboard packaging with banknotes from the New Shekel series, with the banknotes in each series individually bearing the same serial number.
The second series issued includes 2 banknotes in denominations of 100 NIS (Yitzhak Ben Zvi) and 200 NIS (Zalman Shazar), serial number 1010000996. UNC
