Holy Land (French Post Office) 1873, cover from Jerusalem to Paris bearing a genuine grey-blue "Jerusalem Cross" postmark of the French P.O. in Jerusalem, black pearl-ring Jaffa/Syrie cancel dated October 31, 1873, and a blue 20c French "Laureé" stamp (Yv. #29) with an illegible numeral cancel. Original single franking was removed and replaced by the blue Laureé stamp, which is not original to the cover. Numerous transit and arrival marks on reverse. Expertized by P.O.B. Tel Aviv (March 18, 1982, H.G. Muentz). Scarce and historically significant.
